HP Z800 Base Model Workstation

Does the HP z800 support the w5590. I’m looking for the best cpu for gaming that can be compatible with my system.

THE Z800 ONLY OFFICIALLY SUPPORTS THE 5580 SERIES (V1 mb), OR THE 56XX and 55xx (V2 mb)

the 5590 will work with upgraded power supply and HP liquid cooling option

unless you have the upgraded 1110W power supply and liquid coolers, hp does not spec the 130 watt cpu's  as the stock 850 watt unit will only safely support 5560 or lower cpu's

a non overclocked 1070/1080 (non "TI") video card  and a single 5560 should work, "TI" models or dual cpu's require the upgraded 1110 watt supply

a much better choice would be a z820/620 (not win 11 compatible without modding OS) or a lenovo thinkstation p520 (w/900 watt optional supply) which is win 11 compatible

I have a 1100 watt power supply with the regular cooler. The w5580 is also a 130 watt cpu , would I still be able to run it without the high performance heat sink.

unless the app(s) you run push the cpu(s) to over 70% usage the upgraded 463991-001 high performance cooler Cooler will work, however you may have to increase the default case fan speed and live with the cpu fan(s) running faster

note that the upgraded HP z800 coolers have 3 heatpipes instead of the stock coolers two heatpipes

Ok thanks for the help. So just to confirm I could use the w5580 on my hp z800 that has the stock normal fans?
