We have a Synergy Global Technology KVM LCDK1043 & LCD-A2005 Dongle (Display Port with Combined USB Mouse and Keyboard)
When we connect that to any EliteDesk 800 G3 or ProDesk 600 G3 then the keyboard will not work in BIOS settings but the mouse is working.
The vendor is indicating something to do with the HP BIOS causing that issue.
We have tried these with Compaq 8200 (working ok), Compaq 6005 (working ok), Dell Optiplex 5040 (working ok), Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 (working ok)
Why won't the KVM keyboard work with those HP models and what can we try to fix that issue. They are all running latest BIOS and ME firmware.
Update: The keyboard and mouse are working at the OS level but we need the keyboard to work in the BIOS for selecting boot order etc.
I am almost ready to chalk this up as $2800 G3 family loss due to using an unsupported 3rd party KVM. So maybe I should spend more money next time to buy HP KVM for HP Desktops. Unfortunately, I don't think the vendor will take take the product back because it doesn't work with one generation of desktops even though I think the HP KVM would probably work just fine.
We would be using this KVM to erase systems with Blancco as we are ITAD company so even if I find a workaround then we would need to apply that to 100 to 5000 desktops.

Looks like our only option is to not buy unsupported KVM i.e. Do not buy Synergy Global Technology KVM if you want to select BIOS options in G3 family computers. So unless HP comes up with an BIOS update that makes this work then we are out of luck. Pretty hard to swallow but the vendor has pretty much put the blame on HP and given up on us. Like someone said: sometimes things are not always compatible...

1 - Try enabling or disabling legacy USB support if that option is available in bios.
2 - Using mouse, bring up the device manager and select the "scan for new hardware". If the keyboard is not recognized then delete it (the keyboard) and try the scan again. If this works then it is possible to create a desktop shortcut that can quickly enable the keyboard.
3- Use remote desktop or VNC or Splashtop.as last resort.

Thanks BeemerBiker,
I don't see any legacy USB support options on those.
The keyboard and mouse are working at the OS level but we need the KVM keyboard to work in the BIOS for selecting boot order, enabling legacy booting etc.
We are using the KVM in a wipe lab to erase the systems with Blancco with network boot so this applies to thousands of desktops for one time boot only.
