Try manually installing the W7 x64 driver I zipped up and attached below:

Here's a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows driver support for that ID:

; HP

%E153ANC.DeviceDesc% = E153A.6.1.1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A&SUBSYS_1905103C

Hi:

What operating system do you need the driver for?

See if this driver works for you:

Intel I217 NIC Drivers for DTO Microsoft Win 7 -64bit

sp70278.exe

Thanks! I've tried this one. Its still not working.

You're very welcome.

Sorry that driver didn't work.

One last suggestion...I can find the driver for that ID on W10 but not for W7.

Try this first:

This is the W7 64 bit driver I found on the Microsoft Update catalog.  It contains support for the base ID of PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A.

I have zipped up and attached that driver below:

You will have to manually install the driver as there is no exe file.

Download and unzip the file to its folder.

Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager.  Click on the ethernet controller device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

The 2nd driver I attached is for W10 and contains the complete hardware ID you posted.

If the first driver doesn't work try manually installing the W10 driver the same way.

I've tried both drivers and followed your steps, but it didn't work out. I guess I'll have to use a USB dongle for now."

"If you have any other suggestions, let me know. Otherwise, I'll just leave it as it is.
