I have a HPZ420 running Windows 10 64 bit. I use Photo shop daily. With the last PS update, I got a message saying my GPU needed to be upgraded.
Their recommendation: DirectX 12 support / 2GB of memory & OPS/SEC of 2000 or higher.
These cards can be very expensive so my decision is to upgrade or buy a new computer.
Suggestions / advice much appreciated.

current gen and last gen VIDEO CARDS are costly and you will not save on this by buying a new system
your question should be, will a new system that has a new cpu, faster/more ram/bootable NVME ssd support offer improved performance in photoshop vs just a video card
if you look around on ebay you can find directx 12 cards for under 200 new and less used a nvidia 1050 4GB model is around 200.00 new

DGroves is an enterprise level IT specialist... I'd listen to his advice.
There are several very experienced forum members who have posted on the very best ZX20 family version 2 workstation processor upgrades... Bambi and Brian, and it is pretty easy to find their posts here.
Memory... Bambi gave me some info I'm grateful for. Certain retired server RAM bought via eBay, the fastest that can run in the ZX20 version 2 workstations with 1 or 2 fastest version 2 processor(s), for a very good cost. If you have what you need then you are fine... if not I can pass on his excellent recommendation. We upgraded 25 Z420 v2 workstations with that memory... not a single used stick was bad.
