Z6 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I wanted to ask you for information: In HP Z6 workstations, do you know if it is possible to install a Geforce RTX2080 graphics processor?

PauloDomenicoM,

Yes, the RTX 2000 series may be used on HP Z6.

There is only one Z6 (Xeon Silver 4114 / 10C@2.2GHz ) using an RTX 2080 (not the Super) on Passmark baselines with a 2D= 435 and 3D=11105. There is one Z6 (Xeon Gold 6148  20C@2.4GHz_ ) with an RTX 2080 Ti : 2D= 802 and 3D=10309).  It appears that the quite low clock speeds of the Xeon Scalable processors produce quite low graphics performance.  For comparison, on a Z4, with an I9-7940X 14C@3.1GHz,  an RTX 2080 Ti : 2D= 995 and 3D=17174). That is the dramatic performance difference with a higher CPU clock speed. That effect will be true for both graphics-oriented 3D CAD and compute functions.

HP z620_2 (2017) (R7) > Xeon E5-1680 v2 (8C@ 4.3GHz) / z420 Liquid Cooling / 64GB (HP/Samsung 8X 8GB DDR3-1866 ECC registered) / Quadro P2000 5GB _ GTX 1070 Ti 8GB / HP Z Turbo Drive M.2 256GB AHCI + Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe 500GB + HGST 7K6000 4TB + HP / HGST Enterprise 6TB / Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 sound interface + 2X Mackie MR824 / 825W PSU /> HP OEM Windows 7 Prof.’l 64-bit > 2X Dell Ultrasharp U2715H (2560 X 1440)

[ Passmark Rating = 6280 / CPU rating = 17178 / 2D = 819 / 3D= 12629 / Mem = 3002 / Disk = 13751 / Single Thread Mark = 2368 [10.23.18]
