Graphic Card Compatibility

HP Recommended
HP Z210 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Well I own a HP Z210 Workstation and I currently use a Nvidia Quadro 400 graphic card which used to be pretty good for the work I had until now.
I am thinking to upgrade my graphic card but I am not sure what cards my motherboard suppots and I don't want to go and buy the wrong one.
Should I stick with the Quadro ? Or switch to GeForce ? Does it work with ATI or AMD ?
I would like a card which can help me with some "heavy" programs and project (Auto CAD ; Video Editing/Making ; 3D Modeling etc...) but also to have a decent gaming experience (not some high-end graphics) , somwehere around 2-4GB of dedicated graphic memory.
