Unfortunately, SDH is correct BUT It would have worked if the "bios recovery" was a switch to use an alternate bios or if the chip was in a socket where it could be pulled out and replaced. Either of those solutions adds a few $ to the cost. Currently, the only solution I know of for boards out of warranty is the ch341a or it's equivalent.
