Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello good people,

I have 8760w workstation. I have Windows 10 installed however now i would like to install Linux besides. My issue is when i try to book linux cd it isn't, it just go through and load windows 10. I tried to make some option in bios but without result. I tried to enable Legacy boot and doing that linux cd was boot. The problem is when again i reboot system it is not booting my Windows 10. It says there is some problem with booting and suggest to recover it. My question is how to set up that by cd can be booted but still windows system to be able to boot.

do not change boot to legacy,

all you need to do is change the boot order of devices in the bios

or better yet most current systems allow a specific  keypress during boot to select the boot device

With HP computers you can boot a device one and you do not need to change the boot order permanently. You can use a special HP Startup Menu for this.

1. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button (press and hold for few seconds until it powers off)

2. Insert the bootable Windows flash drive

3. Power the PC back on.

3.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, immediately begin hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap) -  before any logo appears.

This should open a HP Startup Menu with several options such as F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12, etc...

select the boot option, then from that menu select the device you want to boot from
