Hello everybody,

 

is HP (like other competitors) already distributing BIOS updates for business devices via Windows Update or is that not (yet?) the case?

 

As a side note: Not a fan of this, even if I can understand it for security reasons.

 

Speaking of which ... how well does this even work in practice without restoring the default values after the update?
Without this "old-school" intermediate step, I had (even in the recent past!) problems such as settings or even IMEI passwords which were not correctly adopted.

i don't know where you got the idea that windows update now does motherboard bios updates........this is incorrect

 

perhaps you are confusing the updates that MS did for the spectre bios issue, in this case MS determined that due to many board venders not bothering to provide the patch for various reasons/excuses for their motherboards, ms created a spectre patch for windows that works on any win 10 install that has the flaw
