HP Device manage - rules, run only once

Hi,

I am creating my first rule in HP Device manager. I have a profile for HP ThinPro that I want to apply to our thin clients.

I have created the rule, so that it applies at startup.

The problem is that after it has applied the profile it restarts the client in order for the settings to apply. And then it runs the startup rule again - and goes into a loop.

How can I make it apply only once?

Hi Kim,

"Startup" is supposed to be run on every reboot.

You don't actually need a rule in this case. Simply create a template with ThinPro profile and appy it to rest of the thin clients

The problem is that when I apply it it restarts the thin client.

And I cant just restart all the thin clients when I want to 🙂

But I found a way to do it. I set the custom attribute 6 with the profile - and then I made a filter in the rule to check if the custom attribute 6 is set.

That way it only applies once on startup.
