Hey jason,

Thanks for the information!

I have one another question, Do you know how to increase HP RAM Disk Size via remotely i mean through HP Device manager ?

Thaning you!

HP Recommended

Hi,

The RAM drive is a simple registry setting

“HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RamDrive\Parameters\Disksize”

Here's my steps:

How to Resize Ramdisk space by HPDM

  1. Right click device and select Send Task…
  2. Select “File and Registry” in the left and select “_Get Registry” in the right, click “Next”

3.Select “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and click “Add”

4.Input “System” in the box and click “OK”

5.Repeat step 3 and step 4, add registry node as below, input template name in the box and click “OK”

6.Right click template “SetRamDiskSize” and select “Properties”

7.Select “Registry” and click “Edit”

8.Select registry node “Parameters” in the left and modify the value of "Disk Size" as needed, click “OK”.

(Note: "Value Data" is displayed in hexadecimal system, which needs to be converted to hexadecimal system)

9.Send “SetRamDiskSize” to the device.

 More information,refer to below document.

https://1drv.ms/w/s!AvTRWAjANagtkBZthYQrqDAmWzQQ

My suggestions is:

1. Manually change the RAM drive to 512MB on a test machine

2. Capture the registry settings via HPDM

3. Deploy the captured registry to another test thin client and see if it works.

Then Deploy the registry to rest of your thin clients.

Hello jason,

many thanks for your last reply regarding HP RAM Disk.  What's your opinion regarding below probllem HP T620 clinets shutting down after some days while restarting and connencting to RDP to the clinet, It shows Microsoft Windows " Your computer is on low memory". Currently i have 256 MB RAM is set and its configured in kiosk mode. Do you think above problem could be solved by increasing RAM disk size even windows log is mentioned below.

There is some of clinets which are alreday deployed new image and configured and after some time it shows down on monitoring system and even unable to ping and RDP but the image is deployed for all clients same:

Operating System: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB

Image Version: 14WWFTDJ601#SABA#DAus

After restarting the clients, by requesting to local admin then went to windows Evenview and seen some logs there:

When and RDP to the clinet and checking the event logs suddently one Microsoft Windows poped-up on screen "Your computer is low on memory"

low_memory.PNG

What do you think running low memory is the reason of shutting down the clients ?

And i also found the log in in the windows event viewer related to low memory.

If i go to control panel, HP RAM Disk manager :

Size is set 256 MB and range is (16 MB to 768 MB)

may be this is reason for low memory because its set to 256 MB not the full range 768 MB?

Even c:/temp folder is also empty.

Model details :

Model - HP T620 Quard Core TC

Processor- AMD GX-4156A SOC 1.50 G hz

Installed RAM- 4 GB

Could you please see and give me response because some of the devices are shutting down and most of them computer log shows low memory and even image is same for all of them.

Thanks for your help so far!

Best Regards

Syed
