HP Z2 Mini G5 Workstation
Linux

I have a new HP Z2 Mini G5 Workstation.

When I push the top cover slightly, I lose connections to all things that are connected by usb. I can see the power supply to these things are interupted, but I don't know if is is more than just the power supply.

Or sometimes, the things connected by usb don't work, and I have to push the top cover to solve the problem.

Meanwhile, other parts of the computer keep working. The monitor is working. So is the ethernet connection.

What is the connection between the top cover and the usb connectors? Is the problem with the top cover itself, or is it pushing on something that causes this?

is it possible someone has been inside the system? if they took it apart and failed to put it back together correctly you may have a short somewhere when the main board is flexed

You mentioned "new" and this issue is unusual and a significant problem.  You have a lemon and need to exchange it for one that works properly while you still can.
