From the following information
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/4AA3-9689EEE.pdf
It has:
2 PCIe Gen3 x16;
1 PCIe Gen3 x8;
1 PCIe Gen2 x8;
1 PCIe Gen2 x4;
1 PCI;
1 14-in-1 media card reader (optional)
Which wireless card do you have ? Where did you put it to the above slots ? No other specs but I think the PCI card (in red above) is suitable for a wireless card and you need proper antennas.
BUT HP does not supply any wireless card only HP eSATA PCI Cable Kit for the PCI slot

My suggestion: Try one card similar to the following cards for the PCIe gen 2 slot:

Hi,
There is no PCIe Gen2 x1 on the motherboard therefore please try port 1 as shown on page 90 of the following document
http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c03424977-1.pdf
You also need driver for the card and HOPE it works. Note no PCIe Gen2 x1 on the motherboard.
Regards.

I tried slot 1 and it beeped when turned on and nothing. Looks like I’ll do usb wireless card.
Hi,
The why I said HOPE. Suprising why HP does not put a wireless card slot (normally a mini PCIe socket type 1) on the machine.
All the best

I have Intel Wireless AC 7260 adapter that has been working with Linux (various) and Windows 7 Pro 64 just fine, yet after Windows 10 Pro 64 was installed it works intermittently at best: needs to be reset every 30+ minutes. I tried newest driver, which made things worse, reverted to an older driver that gets me a couple of more uninterrupted hours. The BIOS is the latest one as of this writing. I tried various adapter configuration hacks, but it seems to be more and more obvious that one needs to find an adapter and software combination that works with this otherwise still very good workstation.
