Hello,
My Z8 couldn't power supply my P4000 video board, I need to replace it with the P2000 to use it. The only difference between board is the power supply that the P4000 need. When I check it with a multimeter there is no 12V on it. I thought it comes from my power supply, so I replaced it without any improvements.
Do you have any idea ? does the 12V come from a converter on the motherboard ?
Thanks a lot for your help

you appear to have no idea on how to troubleshoot a computer system
a good place to start is by READING the numerous documentation that hp makes available for your model system
the service and user manuals are good starting places as they will show how to determine the "GPU" aux power cable(s)
that mid to high end video cards (like the p4000) require to operate correctly
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1324997/Hp-Z8-G4.html#manual
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/2481510/Hp-Z8-G4.html
the p4000 and p2000 cards use the same voltages on the same pci-e pins only the ram and cuda core count and max wattage differs between the two models (105 watts for the p4k and 75 watts for the p2k)
the NVIDIA Quadro P4000 draws power from 1x 6-pin power connector on the video card, with power draw rated at 105 W maximum.
the NVIDIA Quadro P2000 does not require any additional power connector on the card, its power draw is rated at 75 W maximum.
failure to connect the AUX GPU power cable to the p4000 card will result in a non working video display

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I already read the User Manual and the Maintenance and service guide but I'm sorry It doesn't help me to solve my problem. I probably miss something but I don't see what it is.
The fact is that the AUX GPU Powercable shall provide 12V this could explain why my P4000 board doesn't work. But I have no idea how I can investiguate this problem.
Note that the P4000 is working properly on another computer.
