Good day

I want to upgrade my HP Z820.

Which CPU still works without liquid cooling?
I have a v1 motherboard.

With best regards

what do you use the system for? this will determine if you need high core count or high Mhz cpu(s)

to use cpu's that dissipate more than 95 watts you will require the upgraded high performance (130 watt) cpu coolers

the z840 and 820 cpu coolers and cooling shroud are interchangable

the 2687w is a 150 watt cpu that requires the HP N3R54AA Z840  "Z Cooler" or the high performance z820 liquid cooler

the 2690/2680 are 130 watt cpu(s)

To work and play.

I have built two Intel Xeon E5-2670 Processors who consume 115 watts.

Could I still be Intel® Xeon®
E5-2690 Processor

Intel Xeon
E5-2680 Processor

Building with the standard coolers?

And I'm not sure if such an upward price is worth?
