How did you discover that and what error message do you get?
I bought a Z4 G5 three weeks ago (523U4EA) and it came with the RTX A4000 as well and the computer worked from the start with no issues or error messages saying that i need another fan.
However, if you add more RAM you will get a error message when you boot if using +32GB sticks. It promts you to add the Z4 Memory Cooling Solution. No such requirements for GPU. I replaced my RTX A4000 with a RTX A5000 one day later and it worked apart from the nonsens-BitLocker security blah-blah that locked me out of my own computer until i gave it the recovery key.
Did you buy the computer without GPU and then added the RTX A4000 and now it wants you to add a front chassis fan?
Give us the error message/s and we can hopefully guide you to a solution. 🙂
My specs:
OS: Windows 11 Pro
CPU: Intel® Xeon® W 2465X
RAM: 64 GB RAM
GPU: NVIDIA® RTX™ A4000 (16 GB)
SSD: 1 TB SSD

Hi Roger,
thank you the swift response, i have it working now , it was not connected properly to the cable.
i do have another question though, i have an HP Thunderbolt card and it has an auxiliary cable that connects to a 7 pin socket, I had this socket on my old HP workstation motherboard but i can not locate it on the Z4 G5., can ths card run without the cable?

no, add-in thunderbolt cards required a motherboard that has the necessary TBolt header on the motherboard
some newer motherboards' can also have "Thunderbolt over USB-C" integrated on the motherboard along with USB 4 capability

Yes, a DGroves wrote the cable must be connected. It should be a paper with instructions in the box of the TB card. I have not yet found the instructions online for the Zx G5 series.
On the Z4 G4 the header on the motherboard is labeled PD129. Don´t know if it is labeled the same on the G5 motherboard though.
