failure to install the proper video card drivers will result in the operating systems defaulting to it's "basic" video driver which has very limited capabilities

 

determine which video card is installed in your computer,

 

you may have to remove the card to read any label's or just post a picture of the front/top of the card

 

for nvidia it's the consumer nvidia drivers or the professional Quadro series driver

 

for AMD, it's the radeon or firepro
