Upgrading in-place from Win7Pro to Win10Pro has gone quite smoothly in conjunction with updating the SATA SSD system drive and upgrading to an NVME data drive. The in-place upgrade is necessary because of multiple necessary programs whose install and update files are not available.
We stayed with Legacy BIOS instead of going with UEFI, as our understanding is that a complete OS reinstall would have been required.
RAID is chosen in BIOS as the disk protocol and likewise Intel RST is authorized in the BIOS. The Intel RST software is installed in Win10, a carryforward from Win7. Our understanding is that at the very least, the RST drivers have allowed the SATA system drive to continue to be GPT instead of the usual AHCI or IDE MBR.
So, with that as prelim info, our question is whether the HP-provided Intel RST version 13.0.0.1098 is in fact the latest and best s/w and driver package as recommended by the HP Support Assistant.
We have just now re-discovered the HP Image Assistant, which recommends an update to the Intel Management Engine Interface, but do not understand that to be of consequence.
Thx. ITG
