Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

So we bought one of these PCs (the exact product number I believe is 1CB64ET) as a trial because we plan to do quite a large deployment of new kit this summer (school network), but I'm having issues getting Windows 7 to play ball. At the moment we aren't going down the Windows 10 route (mainly due to lack of time to properly test in our environment with more important infrastructure projects taking precedence).

The initial lack of mouse and keyboard functionality at the Windows 7 installation screen (select language etc) was easily overcome by injecting USB 3.0 drivers into the image (thank you Intel USB 3.0 Creator Utility!), but in the format/partition section the M.2 drive isn't being detected, even after loading RST and various chipset drivers. So I plugged in a known working 2.5" HDD and it got detected fine (no driver loading required), but then I get "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition". I'm not really sure what this means besides what the message says at face value, and I've tried using Disk Part to clean/format/partition the disk to no avail.

Is this model simply just too new for Windows 7?

Thanks in advance for any responses.
