Light/color control for Omen X Compact Desktop

Hello HP,


I'm working with a couple of OmenX "Desktop/Backtop" machines and I'm trying to find out how to manually control the color of the logo lights on them.


I have tried the OMEN Control software but that seems to just crash when I click anywhere in it. Furthermore, my end goal is to control colors programmatically. Would that be possible? It seems like the computer itself can change the color; turns froom red to yellow sometimes, don't know what triggers it though.


Perhaps there's some underlying api that lets me bypass Omen Control? I'm not afraid to get a little messy here if that's what it takes.

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues with your HP Omen Desktop PC. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.


To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?

Did it happen after a recent software update or Windows update?

Have you tried to perform Windows update or HP Support Assistant update?


In the meantime, let's try these steps here: 


I would suggest here is to update the Bios as most of the issues get resolved by doing this, Please use this link to update the Bios on your computer. 

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.


Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Once done, restart the computer and then try to install the Omen command center software on the PC
