Z420 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All,

I have a request if anybody has an idea. I will buy a Samsung 970 Pro NVMe 512GB M.2 SSD but I am not sure whether it will work on Z420 workstation. There is no M.2 slot but it has a pci express slot. Can I run this SSD disk on HP Z420?

Thanks.

please use this sites "search" feature and read some of the hundred  (or more) previous posts on the z420/620/820 and nvme drives

the short answer is no, you can not boot from a current nvme ssd on these workstations, you can however use a nvme ssd as a data (no booting) drive

for exceptions to the above such as "CLOVER" or a samsung 950 pro, again.....read previous posts
