before replacing the optical drive, try reseating the power and SATA data cable at the drive and at the motherboard by removing and reseating the data cable

next, is this a factory install of windows 7 or a user install? if a user install then visit the HP web site and download all the win 7 64bit drivers and install them

is the system current with windows updates? if not install any needed ones via the windows update program

last, what program did you run that gave the  optical error msg?

HP Recommended

1) The HP Workstation is preinstalled with the Windows 7 and drivers of HP Z240 Tower Base Model Workstation as we purchase the model.

2) For Window Update I haven't done yet.

3) For Removing and Reseting the Data Cable for the Optical Disk Drive have done it.

4) So it doesn't mean that

(

Failure ID: GWAE2K-0009AH-NH137G-6HNS03

)

means my Opitical Disk Drive is faulty, is it?

HP Recommended

based on your reply the optical drive may be bad

at this point i would replace it with a known working unit as a test if possible or a new drive

if the system is under HP carepack or a normal warranty, contact your local HP rep

Okay just show the HP Representative with this below

To get them replace my Optical Disk Drive as the HP Z240 is still under warranty, is it?
