I have an HP Z600 Workstation. Now I want to build in an M.2 SSD 1TB. Can I use the M.2 X4 PCI-E Mini Card on the motherboard to realize this.

Thanks

while you can use a pci-e M.2 adapter on the z600 the ssd itself must be a SATA based one, the z600 can not boot from nvme ssd's only sata based ones and these are getting hard to locate new and cost quite a bit compared to 2.5 sata ssd's

nowadays a mid to high end SATA drive will saturate the z600 SATA 3g interface, however using a pci-e x4 interface with a SM951 (sata version) may be faster in benchmarking, but for most users they will see no benifit

in order to take advantage of a pci-e based interface,  you really need the faster pcie 3.0 bus instead of the z600's 2.0 bus speed

my recomendation, save your money, buy a 2.5 in SATA based SSD such as the samsung pro line if you want the fastest

or the EVO line which is almost as fast but cheaper
