Performance Advisor

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi,
I’m using Performance Advisor on a Z820 workstation. When I try to make changes to the BIOS and save them, the software tells that there is a password set and it can not proceed. How can I provide it the password?

Thanks.

if the bios has a password set then said password will be required before any changes can be made

a password is usually set for this very reasion, to keep unauthorised persons from making changes

if  you are not the owner of this system, contact  the owner or the people who do support

Hi,
I am the owner of the workstation and I do have the BIOS password. But when I make changes to the BIOS through Performance Advisor it tells me there is a password set into the BIOS and cannot proceed. It does not ask me to enter the password so it can make the changes.

Thanks.

the bios has to password levels User and administrator

having user rights limits the bios settings that can be changed only the admin rights has full bios access

also any changes to the Intel AMT section will require that bios password which is seperate from the user/admin [asswords

if you have enabled the AMT option then you also have created a password for it

if AMT is disabled then the password is not revelant

since you have the bios admin password, simply enter the bios and make the changes you want from there
