HP Z440 Base Model Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Please be forgiving with me: on the one hand, I unfortunately have virtually no idea about computers, and on the other hand, I have to formulate my question in a foreign language.

My MHP Z440 workstation is currently equipped with RAM as follows:

Bank : 4GB ECC DIMM DDR4 17-15-15-36 4-51-16-3 1T
Bank : 4GB ECC DIMM DDR4 17-15-15-36 4-51-16-3 1T
Bank : 4GB ECC DIMM DDR4 17-15-15-36 4-51-16-3 1T
Bank : 4GB ECC DIMM DDR4 17-15-15-36 4-51-16-3 1T

I wanted to increase the RAM and for this purpose I got a 16 GB memory module from Kingston (KTH-PL426/16G) which basically seems to fit. I had previously installed the memory cooler. However, the system gave an error message and does not work.

Now my question: I am afraid that I always have to install four modules when expanding the memory. That it is therefore not possible to add only one, two or three modules to the existing four. Right? Then I would have to change to another 4 or 8 GB modules for financial reasons.

If it is possible to add only single modules after all: How would these then have to be arranged on the mainboard for it to work?

Thank you very much for your help - I am desperate.
