since the z840 supports booting from the faster nvme based ssd's (unlike the z820) simply pick the nvme based m.2 pci-e card you want and then read the reviews of pci-e 3.0 based enthusiast/performance based products the samsung and Western digital product lines have high end devices such as the wd850 black or the samsung 970 pro

 

the HP turbo Z cards are well built m.2 cards and the "G2" variant comes with a heatsink  and can be found used on ebay
