So I got a Z240 SFF workstation for my dad and after we got it set up and windows updated we noticed a problem.
On boot it sits on a black screen for about ten minutes or so before it brings up the "Protected by HP Sure Boot" splash screen
A further ten or so minutes for it ti say "Loading menu" in the bottom left
Then another ten or so minutes for it to finally load the menu.
Once I select 'Continue boot" it's in windows within seconds. But all told it takes at least a half an hour for my dad's computer to get to the point where it;s allowed to boot.
Clearly something is wrong but I don't know what. I installed the latest BIOS, Ram and HD both passed the checks it offered in diagnostics. I either need to know what's wrong with Sure Boot and how to fix it, or how to completely disable it.
I tried looking in the Sure Boot section of BIOS but I didn't see an option to turn it off
