Hello everyone,
i have a Z440 and want to replace the HDD with a SSD
After I changed the disks nothing works anymore. The monitor stays black, I can't access the BIOS. A BIOS update as described on the driver page seems to work at first, but only ends when the fans start up.
BBR jumper was set.
There are not the 8 tones.
The USB stick flashes, then stops and shows a continuous signal.
Approx. 2 minutes later the fans are running at max speed.
I have in the root directory the file M60_0254.BIN
Neither from the USB stick nor from the CD a Bios update will succeed.
Sorry for my english, I have translated with Deepl.com

flashing a bios because your z440 can't find a bootable disk is pointless!! doing so will not resolve the issue
you need to determine why you have a black display, trying to update the bios may also have created more issues (such as a corrupted bios)
at this point i STRONGLY recommend you take the system to a qualified person and have them determine what's going on
changing a SATA mech drive (or SSD) for another SATA mech or ssd drive will not cause a boot issue UNLESS the replacement drive is defective/formatted/not set as primary boot disk, or data/power not connected
last, i'm not going to tell you why your attempt at a bios update fails (other than to say bad folder path) because you appear not to know what your doing and flashing a bios at this stage will most likely cause you more problems.......again take the system to a qualified computer repair shop and have them determine ihe issue(s)
does the new or old drive show in the bios?
