I can clearly see the one behind the hard drive chassis, but that's it - only 1 6pin. Can you tell me the exact location for both?

I got a bit unsure now and looked through the quick specs and didn´t find anything that said that *how many* six pins Z840´s with the 850W PSU actually have.

It stated that 1125W PSU should have three six-pin connectors. (so i was wrong there)

However, Nvidia recommends a 600W PSU so your 850W should do the trick. If you have one six-pin connector you can use that for the card and then use the molex contacts in the computer to make a 8-pin connector. adapter.jpg

Note: The image is from a Z840 that has three 6-pin connectors.

Here it is:

Yes it was my understanding also that spare 6 pins are 'parked' in the chassis on Z840 machines.

1.  Even the Z620 has two 6-pin supplemental PCIe power cables.... they are plugged into the side of the bottom front black plastic memory fan casing, into "stunt" receptacles that do nothing but hold the plug for you to find.

2.  A HP 6-pin supplemental power cable passes significantly more power than the 75W ATX standard, and there are even HP adapters that pass proper 8-pin cable power via a HP 6-pin cable.  Read here:
