HP Z820
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Refurbishing an older Z820 v1 and wondered if anyone has determined the best update versions for BIOs, Windows 10 version,  etc. Not sure what else would be important update wise. I have Z820 v2 with latest bios and W10 software versions, which seem to work fine (so far), just wondering if that is the case with v1 versions of Z820 mobo. Refurbing for resell so just HDD, memory, graphics card and operating system installed. Any help or experiences would be appreciated!

the only differences between the v1/v2 boards is the cpu and possibly the LSI bios revision

some v1 LSI bios's are unable to work with some drives but this is rare and you can force a unofficial bios update but i don't personally recommend this (pm me if you want to do this)

and the v1 boards only support the Xeon 55xx line unlike the v2 boards support for the 55xx/56xx cpu's

i also have a custom z820 win HP OEM 10 image that includes all necessary drivers (latest) that will auto activate on any z820 which has a digital license and manually activate via MS serial on ones without the digital license, again PM me if interested

both board revisions should be running the latest HP bios
