HP Z240
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am looking to upgrade my memory in my pc.  Currently it has 8gb PC4 2133mhz ram.

I would like to upgrade it to 16gb (2 8gb sticks) of PC4 2666mhz.  When i install it, the pc justs BEEPS showing a memory error.  The HP Z240 system info says it supports 2133mhz.  I would think even if i install the 2666 ram, it would work but only at 2133 mhz.

does anyone have any experience with this or any solutions on how to make it work?

That's true with compatible RAM. RAM you bought may NOT compatible. Have you tried  Unbuffered • NON-ECC  for example
