Does the type c usb port convert connect with thunderbolt cables on hp 15.6” business laptop?

usb "C"  in it's LATEST revision can support both usb and thunderbolt

 

PROVIDED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM MAKER INCLUDES THUNDERBOLT SUPPORT.

 

if the maker does not include the thunderbolt protocol

 

the usb port will only support the USB protocol (no thunderbolt)

 

please check the specifications of your model 15.6 laptop read the HP "quickspecs"  (for your model)

 

to see if they list thunderbolt as a standard feature or as a option, if it's not listed or added as a option then you will not have it
