Product: ProLiant 3000
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Proliant 3000 server (manual here: http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c00190561-1.pdf) and I was wondering whether it would be possible to take out the internals and replace with normal PC components. I thought it might be a cool case to "mod" but maybe it would be better to mod a conventional case. Does the Proliant 3000 motherboard conform to some standard dimensions and mounting hole positions?

servers unlike consumer and some workstation systems do not follow the ATX standards they are built from the ground up with specific design goals to meet a specific need

 

if you have never modded a system before and do not have metal working skills then your proposed project may not be for you as it will require  good working skills in metal and wiring  mods
