Hello,

My z220 sff case is beat up, the latch sucks and rarely the door wants to open, the body is scratched, its had a hard life, but still runs like a champ, but is an eyesore.   So because it might be cheaper to find a similar HP elite case, or other Z series case, and this has 32 gigs of ram, and xeon 1245 v2, and newer PSU, so plenty of life left as a home lab,  I figured I would ask if there is any interchangeability between the Elite/Z series SFF cases, so in the event I can find a cheap Elite 8300 SFF case, or Z230 case, or something of the like, I can grab it off Ebay?  I don't want to try to move it into a CMT, or standard ATX case, just replace stock for stock and clean it up some so I can put it on my desk.

this model computer uses non standard parts, replacing any part is not easily done or is not a reasonable task

either buy a new used  6200/6300pro / 8200/8300 elite sff case/system they are available in both SFF or Minitower size

all of the mentioned models have the same backplate I/O port config as the z220

This is exactly what I wanted was what HP models I could use the case from that shared same size and back plate, there are lots of great deals on shells and barebones clean cases of those various models but finding specifically one for the z220 is a little harder or more expensive.
