HP's latest security bulletin for Intel microachitectural data sampling security updates shows that BIOS updates will be available for Z420, z620, and z820 workstations.    See https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06330149

 

Will HP provide an updated BIOS for the Z220 workstations?

HP has missed the mark on this issue..... the answer is now yes, and there is more info  HERE.

 

Use the google search method described to find the installer from HP, and learn how to update BIOS from within BIOS for your best safety.

I believe after few weeks for testing and classify, HP will release firmware update for all effected products, not in one go.

The recent security bulletin HPSBHF03618 rev. 3 - Intel Microarchitectural Data Sampling Security Updates, dated May 24, continues to omit the Z210 and Z220 workstations from the list of HP workstations that will receive BIOS updates.

 

  Last year both the Z210 and Z220 received BIOS updates for the Spectre and Meltdown flaws

 

Intel has provided updated microcode for these workstations.  Will HP provide new BIOS updates to deliver Intel's latest microcode for these older workstations?

HPSBHF03618 rev. 4 - Intel Microarchitectural Data Sampling Security Updates, dated June 7, shows pending Intel microcode

BIOS updates for the Z420, Z620, and Z820.  The Z220 workstation is still missing from the list of planned BIOS updates.
