HP Z230
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Z230 workstation stopped booting issuing a single beep, then spin up the fan, then off then repeat forever.

I saw a post that said pull the power plug and MB battery and the BIOS would reset.  I did this and now the computer beeps 5 times and does nothing, but the system fan will start after 15 seconds or so.  At no time do I ever see anything on the screen and since I have a USB keyboard I can't hit the F10 or any other key because the keyboard never gets recognized.  I feel like this thing is bricked at this point.  Is there ANY WAY to make this sucker restart in factory mode.

Is there a way to get around this problem?

I've opened the case (carefully) and jiggled the drive cables, memory modules and basically tried to make sure everything was properly seated.

This machine has run fine in as lately as yesterday.  Today no luck.  Any help greatly appreciated on this.

5 beeps on startup is usually memory, or a bad system board

you also don't state if you have a tower or SFF model system
