is it possible to configure a raid 1 with 2 ssd disks?

yes, if your bios or AddIn SATA card supports raid modes then you can enable raid-1 (disk mirroring)

note that raid-1 is a data redundant raid mode unlike raid-0 which stripes  data for speed but has no data  redundancy

also only the newer motherboard bios's support SMART mode or OS level garbage collection when in raid mode

(the ssd's onboard garbage collection will still work however)

last, with the speeds of most ssd's nowadays almost hitting (or surpassing) SATA 6GBps speeds

using raid 0 is not a recomended raid mode anymore

Can I copy an image of a hhd disk on a ssd to form a raid 1?

several ways to do this, but creating a raid 1 array, then doing a image copy should work fine as long as you move the raid image to SATA 0/1 ports or manually in the bios select which drive to boot from

or,.....

the main boot drive can be a normal HD or a SSD it does not matter,

 you can do a image of a bootable drive onto a ssd (just make sure that said SSD is configured as drive 0 (IE boot drive) before you configure raid 1

if it is not then when you enable raid 1, you will be copying a empty drive over a drive with data

you can also create a raid 1 , then manually copy the data onto it just make sure the raid 0 is bootable

before doing this (FDISK /MBR)
