HP Z4 G4 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 11

New to me Z4 G4 came with 2 x Hynix/HP 8GB memory modules, HP P/N  L15415-501. I bought 6 more identical Hynix/HP 8GB modules and installed them. First boot up said, in essence, used to be 16GB, now 48GB, etc etc etc. Windows shows 48 GB, as does system BIOS. System BIOS reports CPU0-DIMM1 and CPU0-DIMM2 as "Hynix-DISABLED." All others show as "8 GB Hynix."

Looked around on the Web for some insight, didn't find much. Is the only recourse to begin taking out all the new modules and reinserting  a pair at a time to see if maybe I got some bad memory? Bought from a reputable IT outfit, said to be tested memory. Single CPU machine, all 8 memory slots now full, baffle/fan in place.

TIA for your help!
