HI,
I have a new Z4 with a PCIe SSD 256 + two Sata HHD. I have another two SAS from Z840 not using then I replace two Sata by Two SAS. But Windows & BIOS can't see SAS. I check all and found Z4 have no support for SAS HDD then I bring back two original SATA HDD. Then now BIOS seeing to SATA but only in Checking HDD feature. The Windows 10 64 bit totally see nothing on SATA drivers.
Any one know and advise ?
Thanks
Long

and your not going to, since the Z4 unlike the z840 does not have a SAS controller as standard
don't you even bother to check the specs of a system before buying/using it?
if you want SAS on the Z4 you will have to add the HP SAS kit option part number L5B74AA
or the MicroSemi SmartHBA2100-4i4e SAS Controller option kit number 1FV90AA
and the above two are Only available on the Z4's with the Xeon W CPU configurations

if the Z840 or the Z4 is not seeing the SATA drives in windows, were these two drives in a raid configuration?
if so you either have them connected to the wrong port/order or you have corupted the raid boot code
