Z400 W3565 12gb v2

After market PSU 450W

Is there a reason why it powers on as soon as I plug in power cable?

Unable to turn off with pin 5+6.  Do not have original case so uncertain of front panel pins. Just by Google finding.

Once unplug(turn off) PSU, battery must be reset before I can turn on again.

in the future please consider reading a items service manual/documentation before doing anything else

your ready fire aim method of assuming that all motherboards use a ATX power supply is incorrect

the z400 uses a NON STANDARD power supply pinout that is not ATX compatible, and by connecting such a supply you are applying the wrong voltages to the wrong pins which will damage the motherboard and/or power supply

you can buy premade adapters for the z400 which allow connecting a ATX supply in place of the propriety HP pwr supply
