I'm hoping someone with experience can answer this for me.

I want to add an Intel X550-T2 10GbE card to my Z640. I know the X540-T2 will work but I want to use the X550-T2.

Is there any reason the X550-T2 will not work?

Thank you in advance,

the  x550-T2 is a retail product so it should work, however some systems (like your 6z40) have limited rom expansion space for add in cards that have onboard roms (like the x550-t2) if you install the card and get a out of space rom message, disable unneeded devices like the onboard network rom to free up rom space
