Z800
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Neither of the 2 onboard NICs seem to work.. they are coloured ornage on the backplate, and one is labelled ASF which I know is to do with remote management.  However, from what I have read, the other should be able to be used for normal network connectivity, but it doesnt.  Its not even listed in device manager, only the pci nic thats been added.

Shoould one of these be working?

Cheers

Go into BIOS and check the security settings for devices.  In the past I have needed to turn off the on board network interface chipset due to some conflicts when I was using a wireless add-on PCI card.  If you do that the device is invisible to the operating system and to Device Manager.

That might be your problem, if someone did that......

Spot on! I checked everywhere I thought of in bios and didn't think for one minute it would be something in security!
