Hi,

Thanks for the info. I have another question, my Z840 has no ODD, if I buy a 9.5mm burner, do I need anything else to hook it up?

 Thanks.

Before you buy, make sure that the one you buy actually fits. I have a Z440 and bought a standard 9.5 mm Blu-ray burner but it did not fit because it was a tad higher than the original DVD burner. It´s a tight fit, at least on the Z440. The new burner was maybe just 0.1-0.2 mm higher.

I bought a standard 3.5 inch Blu-ray burner instead.

Hi,

But in term on cabling for a 9.5mm, are there any bracket or cable needed besides what is included in the case?

 Thanks.

You need one SATA cable, power cables can be found inside the case. On the Z440 the 9.5 mm drive is fitted in the chassi "as is", no adapters/brackets needed.  🙂

note that some laptop optical drives use a "mini sata" power connector
