Hello everyone, I would like to change the hd that I have now in raid1 hw with ssd always in raid1 of equal or greater capacity without reinstalling the system. Will it be enough to change one disk at a time and do the rebuilding? Of course I first run a system image as a backup. Thanks

I have Z600 and h9 blades here, G7

so what do you have for RAID card?, do you have that?, or using the intel built in raid. (Intel Matrix Storage Manager (IMSM) for Windows?)

why raid, use?  for speed ?  raid has 3 purposes speed and other is productions  (real servers use latter)

or if using 2 or more 10TB drives to get TB size nobody else can do, (I bet not) but is in the list.

yes, HP Raid cards (vast) can may (IDK all) that, but not all.(or none)

no card told we can not guess cards, sorry. must  be stated? I can never guess what is inside any PC. ever.(photos)

The rule for the card are clear in the manual for each card.

and are strict in most cases,  mixing HDD and SDD is not good ever.  (apples and oranges )

the correct path is :

  • backup , in 2 places if savvy or even test the  backup on a test system. (lab)
  • then build the NEW  SSD array
  • and restore.

that is my wide scope answer now  tell what you have inside the PC for sure PCIe-slots now.

NO warranty answers by me.
