It is a new generation probably around 1 year old now. I don't think HP talks about its life now BUT you can use for at least 6 years UNLESS Microsoft had another idea to stop support Intel Gen 13th processors in few years time.
Hope this makes sense.
FYI: I still have few machines which are older than 6 years but Microsoft won't (Not HP, Dell, Lenovo ..... ) support Windows 10 sometimes next year. I have to replace few of them (not all, too many holes in my wallet) down the track.
