Respected Sir,

We are an engineering firm in Pakistan. We recently ordered a local vendor to arrange for us ' HP Workstation Z 840, Make\Origin : USA'.

The local vendor provided us the WorkStation on which a Tag bearing following information was given.

[serial number removed]

Prodcut: W7U40USR#ABA

When we entered this serial Number on HP Official Website it gave following message:

We were able to retrieve the warranty status but not all the product information tied with the serial number.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Warranty status details for your product: Expired

Check another product

Product NumberW7U40USR

Moreover when we removed the left side casing cover on the inside we observed the following Tag:

' This is the Product of China'

Now we want to know

1. ' Is this WorkStation a genuine Product of HP or Not ? '    

2. Is its make\Origin ' U.S ' or not ?

3. What else we can deduce from the information that is displayed by HP official website when the serial 

    Number is entered?

4. Should we reject this Workstation or is there anyway to accept it as we have not yet paid the amount to

    the local supplier.

the HP serial and product and region, All must match.......... IE-usa or europe or Far East and so on

you can not register a non usa (such as a system bought in europe) product on the usa HP site

your product number indicates that this system is a HP "Remarketed" system that only has a 1 Year Base Warranty

this is a system, that was returned to HP, and they inspected it and then offered it for resale at a discount, nothing wrong with HP doing  this as laws in most places prevent HP from selling it as new, and a reconditioned system will save you quite a bit of cash and the China label means the reconditioning was done in china

you need to contact your local HP rep in your region and provide HP with the serial/model numbers and date of purchase

and byw, never ever post your serial number on the forum(s), please edit ypur post and remove this information

Why pay for something you don't want?

How did it get a W7 OS get installed on a 'new' PC that should only ship with W10 IMHO.
