t630 thin client
Microsoft Windows 10 IOT

I have multiple t630 thin client devices and they have the Win 10 image "16WWFTEJ6" per the device label.

When I use the HP ThinUpdate software to look for OS images there are many Win 10 images, when selecting "t630" as device, which I can put onto a bootable USB key. But when trying to load the image on the t630 thin client, it starts the process and immediately says:

"***Error*** The system does not have license for the image OS! "

So what is this list of OS images in ThinUpdate - does this mean I cannot use any of those listed for Win10?

Am I limited to exactly that image which is on the device label of my devices?

(That image is not even listed in ThinUpdate ...)

I thought I can customize my image and then capture it and copy it to other thin clients as a fast way to distribute images, but then how does that work if no images are ever accepted by the device?

Microsoft has 3 different Windows 10 IoT Enterprise OS and HP sells T630 Thin clients with 2 of them.

Windows 10 IoT LTSB 2015 is the older version that is rarely seen.

T630 could come with Windows 10 IoT LTSB 2016   & Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2019.

Microsoft has made the licensing part hard by keeping different license for each version.  So if you were trying to install 2019 edition and getting the Licensing error, try going for the 2016 edition of Win10 IoT, it should install without any issues.
