Are you using ThinPro / SmartClient or WES units?

In ThinPro there is this Feature described in the Manual Ramesh posted:

AD/DDNS Manager
This control allows you to add the thin client to an Organizational Unit of the Active Directory Server, and to enable automatic Dynamic DNS updates of the thin client's name and IP-address association. It does not enable authentication against the Active Directory database.

For WES there is a Join Domain Template in the free HP Device Manager.

Using the HPDM 4.7 SP4 on WES7 T520 clients

the set domain template is not working at all

I keep getting error 14080002 the system cannot open the device or file specified

or

Failed to execute SetDomain

I have placed netdom.exe en mui on the appropriat place...

I have tried with or without write filter on

Googled for solution... for manual on this specific task

NOTHING! 😕

So how can I get it to work please?

UPDATE: with OU field left blank it seems to work

But what is the syntax for the OU field?

It is not:

- OU=name

- name

OK, I got it...

for everyone looking into the solution for this issue

Fields to complete like this:

Domain: FQDN (so domain.intra)

User: username (not domain\username, not username@domain)

pass:

OU: OU=ou-name,(OU=root-ou-name,)DC=domain-name,DC=domain-suffix

Thanks John-BE. This helped alot to join the clients to AD.

Did you manage to authenticate on the client local wit AD users?

ADDNS manager is able to add your t510 into the DNS lookup list.

If you need full AD support... we don't have a solution for THinPRO5.x yet.   BUt for THinPro 6.x it has a much better AD support which has most (not all) feature of AD
