hp Z400 workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi i´m moving my old hp z400 workstation to a new case http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/masterbox-lite-5-rgb/ . I´ve chanced some parts like gpu, ram and ssd but i still have the same system board. On my new case there is a cable split into 5 ends; h.d.d. led, power SW, Reset SW, power led+ and power led- and I can´t find where on the systemboard i should plug them in. Can somone please tell me where? Thanks.

your HP motherboard was designed to use it's custom hp case, as such it does not follow the industry standards for front panel I/O connections

you will need to make your own semi custom connections by looking in the user service manual for the z400 which covers the pinouts on the hp motherboard

http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c02589908-1.pdf

start with page 221, which shows the USB header pinouts

the next page lists the motherboard connectors such as fan/HD  light

you should also find the 2 pins used to power on/off the motherboard, if not simply look at the power button, note the colors of the pwr button wires and then look at the other end and note where those same  wires connected

here's a link showing all the motherboard headers and front panel connections

the 24 pin power connector is also non standard and needs a adapter
