I have bought a z400 workstation, and I have been facing issues with connecting to the internet through an Ethernet Cable. I have tried using many sources online, but all have failed me. Please suggest what I do to connect to the internet through an ethernet cable.

I have run Ubuntu 18.04 on several Z400. Currently I have only one and it is running win10 as they are all licensed for windows.
I assume this is a commercial or enterprise system and has Red Hat or similar and is not for personal use unlike the 3 I had.
Normally the install picks up the network driver immediately. Even if one forgets to connect the cable during install, the next reboot will get the network working if the cable is connected.
If you want this workstation for personal use I can help you with the latest Ubuntu (20.04), or with MInt or I can show how to install and activate HP's win7 pro and upgrade to win10
I have verry little experience and no interest in Red Hat or any enterprise OS. All I can suggest is to check the bios and make sure the network device s enabled.

Do you need Red Hat or the apps that are on the system?
If not then put in Mint or the more complicated 20.04 and a full desktop. MInt is super easy to setup and use but if you want NVIdia board that use CUDA or the more recent Radeon with ROC then 20.04
